When preparing to travel, check the status of local infectious diseases(including MERS) at your destination and preventive measures to protect yourself 2. At the airport, prior to departure, double check the status of local infectious diseases (including MERS) at your destination and preventive measures (We are informing travelers to protect themselves from infectious diseases while overseas...) 3. Immediately after arriving in Middle Eastern countries, you will receive a text with precautions to protect yourself from MERS infection (Avoid contact with camels or patients with respiratory symptoms and report to 1339 and your local public health center if you have any symptoms within 14 days of your return) 4. On your return flight, check the available guidelines on quarantinable disease risk areas 5. Before landing, be sure to complete the provided health questionnaire 6. Upon entering Korea, 1:1 inspection will be conducted on travelers returning from the Middle East 7. After returning home, you will receive texts to monitor your health for any symptoms (1st day: Hello, we are KCDC. This text message is sent to the Middle Eastern region visitors for four times within 14 days after the return... 5th day: Hello, we are KCDC. It’s been five days since you came back from the Middle Eastern region. MERS symptoms are as follows...… 10th day: Hello, we are KCDC. It’s been ten days since you came back from the Middle Eastern region. MERS symptoms are as follows… 14th day: Hello, we are KCDC. It’s been fourteen days since you came back from the Middle Eastern region. The maximum MERS latency period has passed…) 8.
