"Healthcare-Associated Infection Prevention and Control Begins with Simple Practices"

- The KDCA organized the National Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention and Control Week 2024 from October 14 to 18.

- A survey was conducted during September to assess awareness of HAI among healthcare users.

- The KDCA Promoted the Infection Prevention and Control(IPC) during week through various media platforms to healthcare workers, patients, and visitors.

Osong, 24th October 2024 – In observance of the National Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention and Control Week 2024, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) emphasized the importance of effective IPC measures for healthcare workers, patients, and visitors. These efforts seek to reduce the risk of HAIs and ensure safer environments in healthcare settings.

The KDCA has designated the third week of October each year as “National HAI Prevention and Control Week” to raise public awareness about IPC. This annual initiative aims to foster a culture where everyone— healthcare workers, patients, and visitors alike—actively participates in IPC practices.
