The World Health Organization annually celebrates the last week of April as ‘World Immunization Week’. The event’s aims are to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against diseases and to raise awareness about the critical importance of full immunization throughout life.
During the ‘7th Immunization Week’, CDC conducted national campaigns to increase vaccination coverage and to raise public awareness. Also, we appointed celebrity as a goodwill ambassador and held a ceremony for commemorating the ‘7th Immunization Week’ in order to heighten public interest. This campaign is in line with the message of WPRO, “Vaccination is everyone’s job. Protect our children, protect our community”.
This report will briefly describe the program held during the ‘7th Immunization week’ and CDC’s actions to improve public awareness.
