Trend of current smoking rates among Korean adults aged 19 and over, 2007-2016

만 19세 이상 현재흡연율(연령표준화)은 2007년 25.3%에서 2016년 23.9%로 지난 10년 동안 1.4%P 감소되었음(남자는 45.1%에서 40.7%로 4.4%p 감소되었고, 반면 여자는 5.3%에서 6.4%로 1.1%p 증가되었음). 2016년 기준 남자의 현재흡연율이 여자에 비해 6.4배 높았음(그림 A).

For the past 10 years, the overall current smoking rate among Korean adults aged 19 and over decreased from 25.3% in 2007 to 23.9% in 2016 (1.4%p decrease): 45.1% to 40.7% among males (4.4%p decease) and 5.3% to 6.4% among females (1.1%p increase). In 2016, the current smoking rate of males was 40.7%, 6.4 times higher than 6.4% of females (Figure A).
