Survey on the status of infection control in medical institutions
Overview
- As required by the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, a survey on the status of infection control in medical institutions is conducted every three years to prepare basic data for the establishment and implementation of policies to prevent and manage healthcare-associated infections, the results of which are published.
Main Contents
- (Purpose) To identify the current status of infection control in domestic medical institutions and the obstacles to infection control, and to use this information as a basis for establishing infection control support policies that reflect the characteristics of different types of medical institutions
- (Survey Targets) Medical institutions, as defined by Article 3 of the Medical Act (Medical Institutions)
- (Survey Content) Using a standardized survey tool developed to reflect domestic regulations and guidelines, the survey investigates the infection control systems and infrastructure, as well as the current status of infection control activities.
- (Survey Frequency) The survey is conducted in three groups: ① Acute care hospitals, ② Nursing, dentistry, and traditional medicine hospitals, ③ Clinic-level medical institutions (clinics, dental clinics, traditional medicine clinics)

- 2021 Acute care hospitals (Completed in June 2022)
- 2022 Nursing hospitals (Completed in July 2023) Clinics (Completed in December 2023)
