Korea's GOARN Participation Status
Three Korean institutions participated in GOARN as its partner organizations: KDCA, the National Medical Center, and the JW LEE Center for Global Medicine at Seoul National University. KDCA has expanded its activities by hosting Tier 1.5 training in 2024 and attending the Western Pacific Regional GOARN meeting.
Highlights.
Tier 1.5 training in March 2024
The WHO GOARN Tier 1.5 training equipped potential GOARN- deployed staff with essential knowledge and skills necessary for enhancing core competencies. Through discussions and presentations, participants deepened their understanding of appropriate public health measures in international outbreak settings.
Networking through WHO WPRO GOARN Meeting in Tokyo
GHSCO attended the WHO WPRO GOARN meeting in December 2024 to promote GOARN initiatives, expand regional networks, strengthen GOARN activities in the international community, and explore ways to support ASEAN member states
WHO GOARN Webinar Series: Deploying with GOARN

The first WHO GOARN Webinar Series launched on 23rd September 2025 to foster stronger engagement among GOARN partners and experts. This session provided introduction to GHEC and GOARN, deployment experiences related to Measles and HIV, presented from the perspectives of both WHO country offices as well as deployed experts. With a focus on the APHSAF community, GOARN partners and WHO regional office and country offices, the webinar aimed to facilitate information exchange by sharing real field experiences and lessons learned from GOARN deployments. The session successfully strengthened mutual understanding and collaboration among participating partners.

WHO GOARN Global Meetings of Partners
GHSCO participated in the WPRO regional session of the GOARN Global Meetings of Partners from 2nd-3rd December 2025. This meeting provided an opportunity to monitor recent developments and ongoing activities among GOARN partner institutions, while also exploring potential opportunities for future collaborations.
