Vision & Direction of the UN
The UN declared the goal of “Ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030” at the high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly in June 2016, and recommended increased investment in prevention and treatment to achieve this goal.

Policy Direction
- Developing response measures tailored to regional characteristics and expanding investment in prevention and treatment
- Abolishing punitive regulations that restrict access to preventive measures and treatment for those infected
- Establishing a transparent monitoring system and strengthening information sharing regarding HIV/AIDS
GETTING TO ZERO
UNAIDS has set the goal of “GETTING TO ZERO” to strive for zero new infections, zero AIDS-related deaths, and zero discrimination.
