Survey Target and Implementation System
- Target: Approximately 300,000 samples, about 9% of discharged patients from general hospitals across the nation with 100 or more beds

- Self-survey: Direct data extraction and input by sample hospitals
- Visiting survey: The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency visits hospitals to investigate and input data.

Main Survey Content
- Use of a standard survey form consisting of a total of 30 questions
- 20 general items: Demographic characteristics, disease information, etc.
- 10 in-depth items: Intentionality of injury, mechanism, place of occurrence, type of activity, etc.
Data Quality Control and Analysis
- Implementation of a national briefing session and surveyor training before conducting the survey
- Verification of missing required items and logical errors, and multi-stage cross-validation of suitability between items (codes, primary diagnosis/treatment, etc.)
Utilization and Policy Contribution
- Disclosure of statistical books and raw data through linkage with KOSIS [Korean Statistical Information Service] and the National Injury Information Portal ( kdca.go.kr/injury )
- Establishment of the National Health Promotion Plan
- Utilized for community injury prevention projects and planning safety policies for children and the elderly.
- Also utilized for mitigating burden of disease studies, handling academic analysis, and as international comparative data.
